This post is based within the Advice Shop, where the successful candidate will provide advice, assistance and advocacy for people experiencing poverty and money worries. The Advice Shop provides advice in the areas of welfare benefits, housing, energy and debt advice and the service is accredited through the Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Providers quality assurance framework.
The postholder will have a particular focus on the delivery of energy advice. They will be responsible for the active case management of energy advice enquiries, working with customers to maximise income, reduce fuel costs and address energy debts. They will work with a wide range of partners to raise awareness of issues relating to fuel poverty and develop targeted interventions to support affected households.
It is essential that the successful candidate holds a City and Guilds Energy Awareness Certificate or equivalent or can demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of energy advice.
