An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful, dynamic school team within Torphichen Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary serving the community of Torphichen in West Lothian. It is part of the Linlithgow Academy High School cluster. The roll of the school is 57 with pupils organised into three classes. Torphichen ELC is located on the school grounds in a separate building, and provides early learning and child care for children aged 2-5 years. The roll of the ELC is 10 children over the course of the week.

The senior leadership team currently comprises the Head Teacher and a Principal Teacher. In addition to three class teachers, there is a team of pupil support workers and a support for learning teacher. The school office is staffed by an administrative assistant. In the ELC, staffing currently comprises of one early years officer, one Early Years Practitioner and one pupil support worker.

Torphichen Primary School has earned a very good reputation within the local community and within the wider education community through its innovative work on curriculum design. It is very well supported by the parent council and the wider parent forum. The parent council works in close partnership with the school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement. There are well developed, supportive partnerships with local groups and businesses, and with the staff of Westfield Primary School, through the dual headship.

Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff. Staff demonstrate strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains and enhances a positive climate for learning across the school.
