An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful, dynamic school team within Winchburgh Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary serving the community of Winchburgh and its surrounding area.

Winchburgh Primary School & ELC is part of a growing cluster within the Winchburgh Academy High School cluster. We work collaborative with colleagues in Winchburgh Academy to deliver a diverse and what we believe to be unique learning experience 3 – 18. The roll of the school is 557 with pupils organised into nineteen classes. Our ELC is an integral part of our school community. The roll of the ELC is xxx children over the course of the week. The school has a very successful breakfast club which is open to all children across P1-7.

In addition to our class teachers, there is a team of pupil support workers, two support for learning teacher, three principal teachers a Depute and Head Teacher. The school office is staffed by two part-time administrative assistants and a clerical assistant.

Winchburgh Primary School has earned a very good reputation within the community and is well supported by the parent council and the wider parent forum. The parent council works in close partnership with the school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement. There are well developed, supportive partnerships with a range of local groups.

Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff team, with individual improvement activities and group improvement part of our wider commitment to ongoing professional development. Staff demonstrate strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains and enhances a positive climate for learning across the school.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
