An exciting opportunity to join the Domestic and Sexual Assault Team (DASAT). Are you interested in expanding your knowledge and working within a specialised area of domestic abuse work?

You will have operational experience of working with adults, mainly women who are or have experienced abuse. You will understand the complexities of all forms of trauma and abuse and its impact on individuals and their children.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team and the ability to work in partnership with other statutory and third sector organisations, in order to promote the best interests of individuals and their children.

You will have a good understanding of, and work from, a feminist analysis of violence against women.

This post is office and community based, supporting victim of domestic abuse by providing practical, emotional and advocacy support.

Excellent report writing, IT and communication skills are required.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
