Armadale Primary School is a non-denominational school serving the community of Armadale, West Lothian. The school accommodates mainstream classes and an early learning and childcare (ELC)setting. The school/ELC work very closely in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community and has a very active and effective Parent Council that helps to enhance the experiences of the children and raise funds for a range of additional resources.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified practitioner to undertake the role of Early Years Officer leading the team within the ELC. You will lead the ELC team, to actively support a high-quality learning environment for all children within an ELC setting. Effectively use positive behaviour strategies with all children in partnership with staff, parents, carers and other appropriate professionals. The setting is open 50 weeks per year and staff require to work flexibly across the opening hours. Candidates ideally working towards a relevant degree qualification.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
