Longridge Primary School Nursery Class are seeking an ELC Practitioner who will demonstrate commitment to our visions and values and is motivated to work as part of our team. The ELC Practitioner will support the team to achieve positive outcomes for all our children by developing a high-quality learning environment which promotes quality interactions, challenge, curiosity and creativity.

This is a 36 hour, 52.14 week, fixed term contract in our ELC setting.  Please note you will be required to work on a shift pattern Monday - Thursday between the hours of 7.45am and 6.15pm and Fridays between the hours of 7.45am and 12.45pm including during school holidays when our ELC setting will remain open.

The post-holder must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Early Education and Childcare or provide equivalent qualifications.

The successful candidate will work as part of a forward-thinking team, bringing a sound knowledge of child development and will respond to the individual needs of each child, providing high quality interactions and learning experiences.  The days required are Wednesday and Thursday and alternate Fridays.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.  SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.  If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
