36hrs per week, 52 weeks per year, Fixed Term until 31 March 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our vibrant learning community within Simpson Primary School and Nursery Class.  The school is a non-denominational school serving the community of Wester Inch in Bathgate, West Lothian. The school accommodates 22 mainstream classes and a nursery class.  The school roll currently stands at 638 children in P1-P7 and 140 children in the nursery class.

The school works very closely in partnership with parents/carers and the wider community and it has a very active and effective Parent Council that helps to enhance the experiences of the children and raise funds for a range of additional resources.

This ELC Practitioner role will a clear focus on leading and delivering high quality learning experiences for all of our children within Simpson Nursery. The successful candidate will follow West Lothian Council policies.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.
