As a Support worker, you will play a key role in supporting a group of tenants to maintain their tenancies by ensuring a warm, friendly and safe environment. The post holder will also directly support tenants in their homes by providing individual advice, practical assistance, personal and emotional care.

Key responsibilities within the role are:
- Deliver care and support to tenants as per their care plan, reviewing when necessary to maximise abilities and independent living.
- Work on own initiative and take decisions within the policy framework, standards and objectives of the service.
- Undertake relevant building/health and safety compliance tasks within the development(s) as required.
- Participate in service development to ensure best value through continuous service improvements.
- To support other developments as required
It is essential that candidates have the following:
- SVQ Level II in health and Social Care
- Strong communication skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Confident using a range of IT systems
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
