Working as a member of the Roads and Transportation Service you will assist in the delivery of one of the key functions of the service.
You will work directly to the Development Management & Transportation Manager delivering the team’s functions and activities. Principal duties involve assisting with Road Constructions Consents (RCC’s) and this entails: Inspection and monitoring of works by developers, liaising with developers and their engineers and contractors on site to resolve minor issues and disputes, identify remedial works on site and carry out pre-adoption / adoption inspections, investigation of customer enquiries and complaints; and supervision of contractors on site.
The is also a requirement to keep and process site inspection sheets to enable inspection fees to be recovered from developers and to update the Councils Asset Management System as appropriate.
You will be required to travel extensively throughout West Lothian to undertake the duties of this post, so a full driving licence is essential.
Applicants are required to have an appropriate certification to SVQ level 2. In addition, applicants should have ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and bills of quantities; good written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills;.
