We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds

West Lothian’s Improving the Cancer Journey team is based within the West Lothian Council Advice shop. This is part of the Anti-Poverty service and is a free, impartial and confidential service to help the people of West Lothian with a focus to alleviate poverty, promote inclusion and equality through advice assistance and advocacy.

Improving the cancer journey is a Macmillan support programme offered throughout Scotland. We wish to recruit a Link worker to join our West Lothian team, offering a holistic, non-clinical support, referral and signposting service for people with a cancer diagnosis, their family and carers.

The postholder will be experienced in providing person-centered support to people affected by cancer or other vulnerable groups. Empathy, listening skills and understanding are vital to excel in the role. Training will be provided as part of the induction programme and ongoing training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

Whilst the post is full time, consideration would be given to applicants desiring part time hours.
