This is a 2 year fixed term post.  The successful candidate will be a resident of West Lothian and be between 16-24 years of age at the start of the Apprenticeship.

Finance and Property Services plays a key role within the council including the delivery of frontline services to the public in West Lothian.  As part of Finance and Property Services, the council’s Financial Management Unit (FMU) is recognised as a high performing service unit with a key role in ensuring the council makes the most effective use of resources to support delivery of services to customers.

The Financial Management Unit is seeking to recruit a Purchase to Pay & Systems Apprentice through the Modern Apprenticeship route.

Enthusiastic and committed, you will be a team player who is eager to learn and take on new challenges. You will be required to demonstrate a record of educational achievement and commitment to achieving goals and objectives.

You will be fully committed to achieving AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting at SCQF Level 6.

Although a level of input and studying in your own time will be required, you will be given time from work to attend a training establishment to undertake a course of study for the AAT accountancy qualification. Please note that on some occasions the training will be delivered through virtual classrooms.

In addition, you will receive training in the administration and maintenance of IT finance systems, and the tasks relating to the purchase to pay process, including invoice processing and supplier payment.
