Our 4 school values are Honesty, Kindness and Respect. In session 2025/2026, aspiration was added as a fourth school value.

The successful candidate will support the vision for the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post which comes at an exciting time for education. The school roll is currently 980 pupils and the school is a very supportive environment with a relentless focus on driving up standards.

The School provides high quality education for young people from first year through to sixth year, offering a full Scottish curriculum.  The successful candidate will have the necessary experience to improve curriculum, learning and teaching, and achievement and attainment in the faculty.

Effective learning and teaching is the core business of all staff. It is essential that all staff set high expectations to encourage young people to be all they can be in order that they achieve their full potential.

Pupil participation is key, all middle leaders have a role to play in promoting participation in the wider life of the school.

As a Community School we have outstanding facilities.  These include sports facilities such as swimming pool, two floodlit all-weather pitches, Dance and Drama studios, as well as ICT suites and multi-media Library.  These are all available to our pupils during the day and after school.

A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland is essential.

This is a leadership and management position, and the successful candidate will have a whole school remit. Applicants should demonstrate preparation for such a role through their own continual professional learning, and school experience.
