Project Officer 36 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work  some weekends ( rotating a Sunday for which a weekend enhancement will be paid)

Following a full review and re-design of this key area of statutory responsibility, West Lothian Council Justice Services have an exciting opportunity to recruit a full-time permanent Project Officer to the Community Payback Unpaid Work Team. Justice Services have statutory responsibility to provide Unpaid Work and other activity opportunities for those who have had a community sentence imposed to afford an opportunity for them to pay back to their communities.  The Project Officer will work closely with the Senior Project Officer and the wider Justice Service. The Project Officer will be responsible for managing the performance of the Case Managers and will ensure that Order requirements are delivered efficiently and in compliance with National Outcomes and Standards.

The successful candidate will take the lead in managing the Case management team which will include performance management, and team development.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Evidence of a good standard of education.
  • A knowledge and ability in a wide range of practical and personal skills as well as the ability to apply these skills in a voluntary/community-based work setting.
  • Evidence of an ability to work constructively with people and to appreciate that working with individuals on an order will require an understanding approach (trauma informed practice).
  • Previous experience of a range of relevant skills is essential, preferably at a supervisory/management level.
  • Working experience of Microsoft packages
  • Evidence of an ability to organise and develop projects and placements.
  • Assessment of potential projects and placements for suitability for the team.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

A driving licence is required.
