Beatlie School provides education for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning difficulties aged between 3 and 18 years of age. The school catchment area covers the whole of West Lothian Council.
The curriculum at Beatlie is child-centred and aims to look at the whole child, considering individual's needs, personalities and age. We provide a broad balanced curriculum within the National Framework for Curriculum for Excellence. Multi-sensory and interactive methods ensure the curriculum is dynamic and meaningful for each pupil. The curriculum is at a level appropriate to the young person.
Our teaching staff and advanced pupil support workers are highly skilled and ongoing training is provided to ensure all children are nurtured and cared for and provided with outstanding learning experiences. Staff are creative and caring and able to recognise and celebrate all the individual successes and achievements for our pupils
The complexities of medical, physical and sensory needs require the school staff to work closely and in collaboration with Allied Health Professional to ensure each child has the appropriate medical and educational supports provided to meet their needs
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
