16 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Fixed Term until 9 August 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our learning community within Letham and Riverside Primary School. These two schools work within a Collaborative Leadership Model.  Letham Primary School and Nursery and Riverside Primary School are non-denominational schools situated in the Craigshill area of Livingston. They are both part of the Inveralmond Learning Community. The schools work hard to provide an inclusive and nurturing environment for children and their families in an area of economic and social deprivation.

A fixed term position has arisen within Letham Primary School’s ELC.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual to join our team to support our children with additional support needs in the ELC.  The nursery is open 50 weeks per year and staff work flexibly across the opening hours.

Under the direction of the Early Years Officer and the school Senior Leadership Team, the postholder will support learning by undertaking a range of activities relating to the supervision, safety, personal and pastoral support and wellbeing of pupils.  The successful candidate will act as a facilitator for the full participation and integration of those with additional needs and support pupils within the ELC and around the school setting.

We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
