Cedarbank School is a school which provides children and young people who have additional learning and care needs an opportunity to access high quality learning and teaching.  The curriculum is designed and adapted to meet the diverse needs of the individual learners. The school is based in Livingston and has strong community links.

The school roll comprised of up to 110 pupils, Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 2 Principal Teachers, 18 members of the teaching staff and a team of 24 pupil support workers.

Cedarbank School has two fixed term vacancies for Advanced Pupil Support Workers involving work with primary and secondary stage pupils.  The roles are fixed term contracts starting on completion of employment checks until 13 April 2026.

Under the direction of the designated teacher, the postholder will work with and support school pupils by undertaking a range of activities relating to the learning, general supervision, safety, care and wellbeing of pupils.  

As part of the team and under the direction of the teacher, the postholder will assist with the provision of a safe school environment by supervising pupils within the learning environment.  Duties relate to pupil pastoral care and the promotion of child health and safety.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
