Inveralmond Community High school is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Pupil Support Worker who is committed to improvement and excellence.

The successful candidate will support the vision for the school and implement strategies to achieve this vision. This is a key post which comes at an exciting and challenging time for education in the school. Inveralmond Community High School is a comprehensive non-denominational school situated in the Ladywell area of Livingston and serves a cluster of six primary schools.

The school roll is currently 925 pupils and the school is a very supportive environment with a relentless focus in driving up standards.

The School provides a broad education for young people from first year through to sixth year. The school offers a full curriculum. The successful candidate will have the necessary experience to assist in taking forward the principles of Curriculum for Excellence in order to support the improvement agenda of the authority.

Effective learning and teaching is the core business of all staff. It is, therefore, essential that all staff set high expectations to encourage young people to be all they can be in order that they achieve their full potential. This will allow them to leave school as effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.

Pupil learning is key, and we encourage all pupils to be involved in the wider life of the school.

As a Community School we have outstanding facilities. These include sports facilities such as swimming pool, two floodlit All-weather pitches, Dance and Drama studios, as well as ICT suites and multi-media Library. These are all available to our pupils during the day and after school.

West Lothian Council are committed to far reaching changes to the way we deliver our Education Services. These changes include giving you the support and environment that you need to get on with your job and develop your abilities. Our dedication is demonstrated by the whole council achievement of the Investors in People Standard and always aiming a little higher in our service delivery and improvements.

We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.
