Southdale Primary School is seeking to appoint a nurturing and motivated pupil support worker to join the team in the nursery.  The setting is open 50 weeks per year and offers morning, afternoon, full day places (term time and 50 weeks). Staff work flexibly across the opening hours.

The successful candidates will have a positive approach to working with children by providing general support in relation to the child’s individuals’ care, health and wellbeing and safety; to ensure a secure and safe learning environment.

The candidates should be solution focussed with an understanding of supporting pupils within an educational setting and how to foster positive relationships. The candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  You will be required to work effectively as part of our ELC team to support the learning of the children.

The post is Monday to Thursday working from 10.00am to 3.30pm (22 Hours)

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.  SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.  If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
