St. Paul’s Primary School is located in the town of East Calder. The school’s catchment area serves the villages of East Calder, Mid Calder, Pumpherston and Kirknewton.

St. Paul’s Primary is a Roman Catholic co-educational school. As a denominational primary school, Christian principles and Gospel values underpin the school’s ethos. The school has strong links with Parish of St. Theresa’s and they foster partnerships across the wider faith community.  The widespread catchment is reflected in the diversity of our school community.

The school’s Catholic, Christian ethos promotes a safe, happy and inclusive learning environment for all. As a school they are commitment to effective partnership working, self-evaluation and wellbeing enables them to form effective, supportive links with pupils and families.

The school currently have 10 class teachers across 7 class stages and 5 part-time Pupil Support Workers. The school also has a part-time support for learning teacher, a visiting Brass specialist and a P.E. Specialist on a Friday.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable pupil support worker to join our support team to support learning and teaching in our P1 class. 

This position requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council. The successful candidate will have three months from commencement in this post to register with the SSSC and to start working towards a relevant qualification with a 5 year period. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
