Pupil Support Worker – 26 hours/week, 39 weeks/year (term time)

The role of the Pupil Support Worker across the school and nursery will be to provide a high standard of support to classes, groups and / or individual pupils in order to ensure effective learning and teaching experiences which meet the needs of all our children.

The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge of child development and the capacity to build effective relationships with children, parents / carers, staff and partners. You will work collaboratively, as part of a forward thinking, dynamic team, displaying high quality interactions and developing nurturing relationships with all.

The school is currently staffed by the Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, 3 Principal Teachers and 26 Class Teachers, a number of whom hold development post-holder roles. In the ELC there is an enthusiastic and expanded team of Early Years practitioners. The school and ELC are supported effectively by a team of Pupil Support Workers, who assist pupils across the school. Admin and clerical support is provided by 2 Administrative Assistants and 1 Clerical Support Assistant. The school runs a very successful Breakfast Club. The school also benefits from a supportive and active Parent Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. 

SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment
