An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Education Services Quality Improvement Team based in the Civic Centre, Livingston. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual to join the team to support Headteachers with quality improvement across the Council’s fifty-six early learning and childcare (ELC) settings and thirty-five private partner provider settings /childminders.

The postholder will lead the central Early Years team to drive forward improvement and deliver high quality ELC provision across WLC. 

  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Improvement team and Early Years team to provide responsive and proportionate support for council ELC settings, private partner ELC providers and partner childminders.
  • To mentor and develop ELC Area Support Managers (ELCASMs) team and to liaise on behalf of the Quality Improvement with the Strategic Resource Manager in relation to ELC staffing. Lead and support authority’s VSE programme in ELC settings.
  • Liaise with Care Inspectorate and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) to ensure positive partnerships.
  • Provide support to Headteachers and Managers of ELC throughout inspection cycle (CI and Education Scotland).

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule.  If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
