We are seeking a social work manager with a wealth of experience to provide senior professional leadership and expertise, management and direction for justice social work and a range of services (including regulated services) for children and young people in West Lothian. This is a rewarding and challenging role which demands strong operational and strategic leadership and a proven track record of leading high-quality services.

You will join an established and supportive senior management team committed to driving forward continuous improvement and fostering positive changes to make a difference for people. You will lead complex change and redesign projects aligned to strategic priorities and you will be skilled in leading, motivating and developing the workforce through change. The ability to adapt, be dynamic and respond to changeable demand is important. You will promote innovative and effective practice that improves outcomes for children, families and adults.

As a senior leader, you will have responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the wellbeing of children and young people, delivering effective justice services and will make a significant contribution to multi-agency public protection.

You will be instrumental in building and maintaining internal and external partnerships to support effective communication, collaboration and joined up supports and approaches.

A professional qualification in social work with significant management experience within social work services is essential. Your values and approach will support the service to continually learn, develop and embed learning into practice.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment and the cost will be met by the candidate.

The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule. If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
