The Community Mental Health Team CMHT is a service delivered through the West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP). This multi-agency and multidisciplinary service delivers an holistic model of care treatment and support to people with severe and enduring mental illness/disorder. The social work team works within the CMHT providing detailed functional assessments for this client group.

The purpose of the post is to provide specialist social work input for people with complex mental health problems who require support in order to develop or maintain independent living.

Candidates should have experience of working with this client group.  MHO certificate desirable, but not essential.  Qualifications, DipSW or equivalent. 

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

This position requires registration with the SSSC.  The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.
