This post is based within the wider Social Work Adults Support and Protection Team working as part of the West Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

The post holder will have responsibility in the delivering Adult Support and Protection services for Adults with a range of disabilities and vulnerabilities.

  • The successful candidate will support operational delivery of the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007. Ensuring key service objectives are achieved in line with local and national policies for Adults at Risk as defined in the act.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders to meet the needs of Adults in need of support and protection, by ensuring that effective systems are in place to enable organisational compliance with the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) 2007 Act and other protective legislation and guidance
  • To ensure adherence to duties and responsibilities in relation to Adult Support and Protection
  • To ensure that a high-quality social work assessment and risk management practice is delivered to appropriate service users in line with legislative frameworks.

The team is based in Civic Centre, Livingston, and is part of social policy services working closely with NHS and commissioned services across West Lothian

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
