24 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, 24-hour per week, Mental Health Officer post within the dedicated Mental Health Officer Team, West Lothian Council following flexible retirements within the Team. The focus of the post will be to fulfil statutory duties associated with the role of the Mental Health Officer in a well-established and experienced team of 11 Mental Health Officers. The post represents an excellent development opportunity for a qualified Mental Health Officer who wishes to build on their existing skills in a professional and supportive environment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Officer who can work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team with a person-centred approach. The primary focus of this role will be to conduct work relating to statutory Mental Health Officer duties under the Adults With Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 and the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003. The post requires engagement with service users, paid and unpaid carers, and family members in a variety of community and hospital-based settings. The hours of this post will be undertaken on days between Monday to Friday. Working days and work pattern are open to discussion. This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council. |
