Community Inclusion Team is West Lothian Council’s community-based day support service for adults with a Learning Disability that operates across West Lothian Communities, with an office base at Quigley House Craigshill Livingston. The Service supports individuals through, face to face contact to access a range of community based meaningful activities meeting individual outcomes.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Team Leader to join the management team on a permanent basis, to develop and deliver a stimulating person centered, outcome focused service in line with West Lothian Council and Care Inspectorate guidance, policy & procedure, as well as National Strategies.
This will require knowledge, understanding and experience of working with adults with a learning disability as well as the latest developments and direction of day support services. With the successful person demonstrating creativity to augment the ongoing modernisation of service, be able to work with partner agencies, as well as source and supporting suitable volunteer opportunities.
It will be essential for applicants to hold HNC Social Care & SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification.
It is also essential for the applicant to meet the required criteria, hold a full driving license and have had a range of experience working with Adults with a Learning Disability especially in care planning and positive risk taking.
It would be desirable for the applicant to have also had some ‘lead’ role experience.
You must also be able to communicate with a wide variety of people both verbally and in writing and utilising different IT systems to do this, as well as have the ability to remain calm when working under pressure and be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
