West Lothian Council Justice Services is establishing a Programmes Team. This specialised team will deliver the UP2U healthy relationships programme, Moving Forward to Change (MF2C) and the Caledonian System.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a full-time permanent Team Manager whose initial role will be to drive forward delivery of a Programmes Team from strategy to execution; after which the Team Manager will be responsible for taking a lead in the planning, implementing and direct line management of the new team. The Team Manager will ensure that all programme are delivered follow agreed delivery models and retains the integrity of the programme.
They will also be responsible for performance management, and team development. They will also work as part of the wider Justice Management Team.
This post will require working every second Saturday with an appropriate weekend enhancement and day off during the week to compensate.
The successful candidate must have:
- BA in Social Work or other approved Social Work qualification.
- Considerable and varied experience and established competence as a Social Work practitioner essential
- Considerable experience of statutory Justice Social Work
- Considerable knowledge of Justice Risk Assessment tools
- An ability to lead and manage staff with a personal style which is likely to induce staff confidence, supporting, enabling and encouraging them to provide good quality standards for care and service
- Ability work with difficult people
- Knowledge of what is currently effective in terms of reducing re-offending
- Good level of legislative knowledge relevant to the post
- Resilience, ability to communicate to a high standard, ability to produce high quality written work.
This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council. SSSC registration is required.
The fee for a Full PVG Scheme Membership is £59 or Existing Member is £18. The £59 cost (where appropriate) will be deducted from your salary over a 1 or 3-month period by repayment schedule. If your employment concludes before the amount is re-paid in full, the outstanding balance will be deducted from your final salary.
