We are looking for a Team Manager for our Prisons Based Social Work Team (PBSW).  HMP Addiewell was opened in December 2008 and is a male maximum security prison run by Sodexo Justice Services.

This position offers opportunities for partnership working with Sodexo Justice Services and with other prison and community-based services with a view to working closely with residents to achieve positive outcomes for individuals and their communities.

Your responsibilities as a Team Manager would include providing professional support, supervision and leadership. You would also be responsible for quality assurance and performance management and demonstrate an ability to work with a degree of autonomy in a dynamic justice arena. 

The PBSW team working with statutory prisoners, mainly serving long-term sentences of 4 years and over. Duties will include attendance & participation in a range of senior management meetings both in the prison and the community as part of the wider Justice Service.

It is essential that you hold a BA in Social Work or other approved recognised Social Work qualification and are registered or eligible for registration with the SSSC.

The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date.

If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

The Team Manager is also required to demonstrate their cconsiderable experience of statutory Justice Social Work and Justice Risk Assessment tools.
