Support Worker - Weekend Warriors

You will be supporting children to engage in meaningful activities. Your role will include:

• Providing 1:1 child centred support within a small group setting
• Promoting and supporting different methods of communication
• Promoting an active lifestyle with physical activity and meeting sensory needs through creative play
• Encouraging choices within activity for child led play
• Adhering to robust infection control measures – which will include providing personal care.
• Working collaboratively as part of a support team to achieve positive outcomes.
• Exercising your own creativity to identify new activities.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Adaptable, empathetic, and attentive and confident person.
• A good communicator who can respond to both verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Patient, calm under pressure, and able to work positively in challenging situations.
• Fun, friendly, outgoing, with a good sense of humour.
• Proactive and reflective, always keen to learn and improve support.
• Physically able to assist with moving and handling safely.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in care/support work or a related discipline.
• Experience whether lived or through work of learning disability or ASD
• Experience of teamwork and positive communication.
