Daddy Daycare are expanding and opening a new after school club in Blindwells Primary School, Princes Way, East Lothian, EH32 9GS. This is a new town located near Tranent and Prestonpans in East Lothian. We are looking for a qualified practitioner to come and join our friendly team

About Us

Daddy Daycare is a small, family run business which has been operating since 2013. Our clubs are very child focused; the children make and choose snacks, pick toys, activities and will even be involved in the interview process (they're great judges of character!)

We are a real living wage employer and a company that is still expanding with plans to open new sites in the future. As a result this role offers future opportunity for progression and we will support team members financially and academically if they are looking to progress into management.

About You

We need someone who can treat every child as an individual, can engage with them and knows how to have fun.

We're looking for someone who has a childcare qualification such as an SVQ3 or HNC/HND. You will also have at least 2 years of nursery or after school club experience

You should have a PVG registration and SSSC registration.

About the role

We are looking for a qualified practitioner to join our new team at Blindwells Primary School, a service that is opening in August 2026 . The role is all year round with the option of additional hours during school holidays. This role would suit someone experienced in childcare who wants to get into Management but has not been given that opportunity, we can give the right candidate that chance. Daddy Daycare will financially and academically support team members through the Management qualifications, we have successfully done this for five different managers over the years we have been operating.

The opening hours of the service are as follows:

Breakfast club hours - 7.30am till 9am Monday to Friday - 7.5hrs a week

After school club hours - 2-6pm Monday through Thursday, Friday 11.30am till 6pm (with a 30minute break) - 22hrs a week

We are looking for a Practitioner who can commit to after school and breakfast club hours however that does not need to be 5 days a week. We do not anticipate needing breakfast club all 5 days to start with so we can offer flexibility with a role that could grow over time.

As a real living wage employer we offer competitive pay, good progression opportunities, discounted childcare, free training opportunities, funded company nights out and an extra holiday off work on your birthday. Pay is calculated over 12 months so you have a consistent income every month.

Interviews can be at flexible times as we are open from 8am till 6pm during school holidays at our existing clubs in Morningside and Newhaven.
