Job Title: Play Practitioner

Hours of work: Monday – Friday FULL TIME

The post holder will be part of the team responsible for the day to day smooth running for both North Berwick Playgroup and / or Law Out of School Care with an emphasis on active play and healthy snack.

Role Purpose

The key purpose is to source and implement play activities. Responsibilities include:

Operational Excellence

• Practice understanding of the Care Inspectorate Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of conduct and legislations.
• Ensure the safe collection and transportation of children between the school and club.
• In consultation with other staff, plan a varied programme of activities suitable to the needs of the young people.
• Maintain good working relationships with other clubs as well as third-party organisations and agencies.
• Assist in the evaluation of your setting.
• Developmental Excellence
• Maintain your own SSSC registration, annual renewal and demonstrate substantial CPD hours on your online PRTL.
• Act as a role model, listening to children in the setting.
• Develop and maintain warm relationships with members of the local community.
