Early Years Practitioner

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner for this thriving preschool provision based in Greenbank Church Centenary Hall. Greenbank Pre School is a funded partner with the City of Edinburgh Council offering 1140 hours of Early Learning and Child Care. Pre School is open between 8.25 am and 3.30 pm during school terms. The successful candidate will be expected to work 24 hours per week over 3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays), during school terms, commencing on 10 August 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The current rate of pay is £13.83 per hour

You must be passionate about working with children, have knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, GIRFEC and Realising the Ambition and be aware of the importance of parental participation. You must be able to communicate effectively with children, colleagues, parents and other agencies. You will be working with a qualified teacher and a team of Early Years Practitioners and Lunchtime Assistants providing quality education for 3-5 year olds.

Registration with Scottish Social Services Council is a requirement.

The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
