Experienced Early Years Practitioner

At Heads of Ayr Nursery, we’re growing, and we’d love you to grow with us. Our much-loved, award-winning nursery is opening its high anticipated baby room alongside the brand new extension of the 2-3 year olds room, and we’re looking for experienced practitioners to help us spark a new era of imagination and nurture into our exciting next chapter.

We’re looking for experienced Early Years Practitioners who are ready to get involved, share their ideas, and help our expansion flourish. If you believe the best learning happens through play, fresh air, muddy puddles, and meaningful connections then you’ll feel right at home in our engaging, rural setting.

Successful candidate would be expected to:

-Contribute as part of a team to the provision of a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 0-5 years and their families.

-Work to the principles of the national care standards for early education and childcare and abide by the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.

-Promote and develop positive working relationships with parents, children and team members. Ensuring communication is clear and concise.

-Keep up to date with latest practice, adhering to policies, procedures and relevant legislation.

-To be reliable, hardworking, honest, with a good sense of humour ensuring a delivery of high quality of care and learning.

-To be confident using digital technology to ensure all relevant information is uploaded, monitored and evaluated.

This post is considered to be Regulated Work with children as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Successful candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a Scheme member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

Required qualification: HNC or equivalent

Required experience: At least 1 year within a childcare setting, nursery or similar.

Preferred experience: At least 2-3 years caring for 0-5 year olds within a childcare setting, nursery or similar.
