TEACHER OF INNOVATION

FULL-TIME, FIXED TERM (ONE YEAR)

REQUIRED FROM AUGUST 2026

We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking educator to join our team as a Teacher of Innovation (fixed term, one year) within The Innovation School at Kelvinside Academy. The Teacher of Innovation can be ether Secondary or Primary based as The Innovation School is a run through 5-18 program.

The successful candidate will lead project-based learning experiences in our bespoke innovation studios, working with both junior and senior pupils. Collaborating closely with David Sassarini, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation, and the wider Innovation team, you will help deliver dynamic learning experiences that foster creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.

Our curriculum is grounded in the Design Engineering and STEM activities to develop design thinking. Pupils engage in four design challenges each year, where they explore real-world problems and develop innovative solutions. As a Teacher of Innovation, you will guide students through the design engineering process—from brainstorming and ideation to prototyping and presentation—within a collaborative, studio-based environment. You will also work alongside teachers, coaches, and industry experts from a variety of fields to support pupils in achieving their goals and developing a strong sense of agency as creative problem solvers.

How to apply:

In the first instance, please contact David Sassarini, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation, if you have questions about the post – david.sassarini@kelvinside.org or 0141 357 3376.

To apply, please complete the application form and send with a covering letter addressed to the Rector. Closing date for applications is Monday 4 May 2026.

Interviews will take place on Thursday 14 May 2026.

All appointments at Kelvinside Academy are subject to satisfactory clearance through the Disclosure Scotland Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and candidates must hold GTCS registration or be eligible for this.
