Full-time | 9-Month Maternity Cover | 40 hours per week | Salary up to £38,000 dependent on qualifications and experience

At Little Bugs, we believe childhood should be filled with adventure, exploration and meaningful opportunities to learn through nature. We are looking for an inspiring and confident leader who shares our passion for high-quality, child-centred outdoor learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing our dedicated team, overseeing quality assurance and improvement planning, supporting children with Additional Support Needs (ASN), managing staff performance and professional development, and building positive relationships with families and external professionals.

You will also contribute to our Learning for Sustainability ethos, develop inspiring outdoor learning environments and lead parent engagement activities, including Parent Forums, open mornings and seasonal celebrations.

The role also includes oversight of Wild Bugs, our school-aged outdoor learning provision, ensuring high-quality, inclusive and engaging experiences for primary-aged children.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A BA in Childhood Practice or equivalent, or working towards the required qualification.
  • Previous nursery supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Scottish early years guidance, play pedagogy, SSSC requirements and Care Inspectorate quality frameworks.
  • Confidence in staff leadership, performance management and quality assurance.
  • A good understanding of ASN, inclusive practice and multi-agency working.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for outdoor learning and developing exceptional experiences for children.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation and play a key role in delivering exceptional outdoor early years education within a truly unique setting.
