Childcare Managers, Simply Play Balerno & Simply Play Craigsfarm

Simply Play is seeking two passionate and committed Childcare Managers for our School Age Childcare Venues in Craigsfarm, Livingston, and Balerno, Edinburgh.

Simply Play is a social enterprise committed to providing professional School Aged Childcare in local communities across West Lothian and beyond. We currently have venues in Broxburn, East Calder, Murieston, Wester Inch, and Craigsfarm, our most recent venue which opened in 2025. Our Balerno venue is scheduled to open in August 2026

At Simply Play, we envision a Scotland where families trust their children are nurtured, supported, and thriving in quality childcare settings – places where children can be themselves and simply play. Our mission is to provide quality, play-based childcare which supports children’s individual development and gives families confidence in their care. We invest everything into changing lives through the power of play.

We view play as our work and are passionate about providing after school adventures both indoors and outdoors and making our service as accessible as we can. We are registered with the Care Inspectorate, and all of our staff are registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. As a social enterprise, all of our income is reinvested in the organisation, and in support of our parent charity, Play Works.

Our Childcare Managers are essentially the most influential employees of Simply Play. Our success is dependent on their knowledge and experience, as well as their passion, creativeness, enthusiasm, and empathy. Our managers lead a dedicated team of Playworkers and Modern Apprentices in providing high quality School Age Childcare and helping children to create Awesome Childhood memories both indoors and outdoors.
