This internship offers an exciting opportunity in your student journey, where you will learn employability skills, communication skills and confidence. This will help you develop in your career and help you decide if this is the right career for you.

In this role you will provide support to the Hospitality Curriculum Team in the day-to-day operation and functions of the Award-Winning College training restaurants – Westerly and Salt & Barrel. This will involve preparing the restaurant for service, managing bookings, meeting customers and clients, supporting all aspects of service delivery, supervising students, handling cash receipts, dealing with customer enquiries and enabling a high-quality learning and teaching experience for students.

Along with excellent customer service and organisational skills you must be an excellent communicator, with the ability to engage effectively with others. You should also have good keyboard and ICT skills including experience of using Microsoft Office packages. To be eligible to apply for this internship, you must be or have been an Ayrshire College student within the past five years who is or has undertaken a relevant course. Previous applicants need not apply.

In addition to the opportunity to learn and develop the skills required to succeed in your career, you will also benefit from the opportunity to work towards the completion of the SVQ 4 Hospitality Management Skills (SCQF level 8) or a relevant qualification.
