IT Infrastructure Administrator

Salary - Grade 5 £30,208 - £33,204 per annum (Successful candidate will commence on £30,208 per annum)

As a key member of the infrastructure administration team your daily role will be working with servers (physical and virtual), Active Directory, Azure, Office365 and other cloud platform services. You will be responsible for ensuring that students and staff are able to access appropriate network services and will ensure a high level of support to all users. You will work closely with the College’s security team to ensure that the College is secure, compliant and following industry best practice.

You will also provide troubleshooting, problem diagnosis and support with a view to providing a coherent IT service. You should have previous experience with user account management and associate workflows.

The college uses a variety of network technologies, and the post holder is expected to have strong technical knowledge and experience in the following technologies.

Essential Skills:

  • Active Directory System Administration and Group Policy Management.
  • Azure AD and Office365 PowerShell experience.
  • Experience of Cloud services and their administration (eg Azure, AWS, G Cloud).
  • Windows Server 2016 and onwards administration and patching.

Desirable Skills:

  • VMWare vSphere and HyperV hypervisor experience
  • Experience of VDI infrastructure
  • Experience of Linux servers
  • Enterprise SAN storage arrays, preferably Netapp experience
  • Cisco UCS and associated management platforms
  • Experience of Database technologies and administration would be advantageous
  • Backup Technologies
  • Cyber Security and Patch Management
