Student Services Officer - Support and Guidance
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: DA9 - £36,666 - £39,780 per annum

We are looking for someone who can provide diverse student services guidance and schools work in our Gardyne Campus. You will provide individualised support for young people and adults who have a range of additional needs such as mental health difficulties, Neurodivergent, sensory difficulties, long term conditions.

The Student Services Officer is an essential member of the Student Services Team who will provide specialised and individualised support, guidance, advice and information to students as they consider, enter and progress through college along with progression onto university or employment. This role will involve being fully aware of student funding internally and externally and assisting students to apply for these funds, an understanding of the current immigration processes and home office requirements would be hugely beneficial.

You will work both on a one-to-one basis assisting students to develop their skills and confidence and within the classroom and small groups. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has experience of working alongside individuals with mental health and wellbeing concerns as well as supporting individuals with literacy issues. This role will need you to have patience and good problem-solving abilities to find individual support options for students to help them achieve their educational goals. It would be desirable if you had previous experience in a guidance role.

You will work closely with Lecturers and Curriculum and Quality Leaders to ensure students are progressing well, that tailored supports and assessment options are in place for students. You will also offer support and advice/guidance to academic staff to ensure they have current and relevant information relating to the needs of students. You will also provide wider advice and information to students to ensure that they have all the information they need in relation to starting at college and remaining and progressing through College.
