Support for Learning Teacher (approx. 0.3 – 0.4 FTE; 7.5 – 10.5 hours per week)

Hourly Rate: £40.16

Permanent (subject to successful completion of a probationary period)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and compassionate teacher to take over this important role at Dunedin. Dunedin is a small, independent secondary school, providing an exceptional learning environment which allows young people to re-engage in learning.

Our pupils have usually had a difficult journey before they come to us, and most have not been able to thrive in a mainstream setting.

With a sensitive, nurturing and supportive approach, we aim to remove barriers in order to help our young people regain a love of learning, and a belief in themselves.

As our Support for Learning lead, you will join a hard-working and committed team, and work alongside us to provide individualised support for our pupils.

This is a part-time role, but it demands some flexibility, as the successful candidate must also be prepared to attend staff meetings which often take place in the evenings.

The role is currently for an estimated 7.5 -10.5 hours per week, ideally spread over three mornings, though this is to be negotiated.

All teachers must be registered with The General Teaching Council for Scotland.

This post is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, and successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment.
