ESOL Work Placement Officer - Permanent - EC01502

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Work Placement Officer.

Based in the Business, Tourism and Hospitality Academy you will work closely with the Curriculum Team Manager and Head of School for College Based ESOL and the ESOL Work Placement Officer job share to source, secure and check work placements for students whose first language is not English (ESOL students). The students will be enrolled on a variety of Full time courses in the ESOL department from SCQF level 4 to 6.

You will be educated to HND level or equivalent. Good communication skills, time management and organisational skills are essential. The post holder will also possess excellent IT skills with knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems and Survey Monkey.

Possession of an IOSH Certificate would be desirable as is knowledge and understanding of the needs of ESOL students and possible barriers they may face in the workplace.

Candidates without IOSH certification must be prepared to undertake the 2 day in-house training course for certification to allow them to visit potential work placements and conduct Health and Safety checks.
