Edinburgh College is looking for someone to join their data protection team to act as a first point of contact for individual information rights requests.

This role will be vital in helping the College meets its statutory obligations and procedural requirements, and will provide support, advice and guidance across all areas of the College on data protection and information rights issues.

Whoever is successful in their application will need to be a team player, and have a good understanding of current data protection and Freedom of Information legislation. Due to the ever-changing nature of legislation and official guidance, candidates will also need to have a desire to learn and develop their understanding of the work being undertaken.

Given the nature of the data that you will be handling, the chosen candidate will need to be able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality at all times, and be able to deliver reports in line with statutory deadlines.

This role sits within a small and welcoming team. Whoever is successful will be fully supported by their colleagues as they learn our processes and get to grips with the tasks outlined in the job description.
