Lecturer in Computing (Networking & Cyber Security)

Edinburgh College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Computing to join our dynamic curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity for an industry professional or experienced educator with expertise in Networking and/or Cyber Security to inspire the next generation of digital talent.

As part of our Digital Innovation provision, you will deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences that develop students' technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours. Working collaboratively with colleagues, employers and industry partners, you will help ensure our curriculum remains current, relevant and aligned with the rapidly evolving digital sector

Reporting to the Curriculum Team Manager, you will:

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Networking and Cyber Security programmes.
• Prepare learning materials and utilise a range of teaching approaches to maximise student engagement and achievement.
• Monitor student progress, provide academic guidance and support learner success.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assessment and performance records.
• Contribute to curriculum development, quality enhancement and continuous improvement activities.
• Support recruitment, marketing and employer engagement initiatives.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of learning and teaching.
• Ensure compliance with College policies, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Degree qualification in Networking, Cyber Security or a related discipline.
• Relevant industry experience and current sector knowledge.
• Strong technical expertise within Networking and/or Cyber Security.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management abilities.
• Excellent digital and ICT skills.
• Ability to motivate and support students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Willingness to work towards a TQFE qualification and GTCS registration if not already held.
