Contract basis - Part time - Temporary (Until end of November) Hours will be worked mainly on a Tuesday. Teaching will be Tuesdays from 3.30pm - 8.30pm. Team meetings will take place on Tuesdays from 2pm - 3.30pm.

Location - You will be employed initially at Edinburgh College: Sighthill Campus, but you may be required to serve at other work places and to travel during the course of your employment.

Role/Subject Specific Information

Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person to take up the exciting post of Lecturer in Health and Social Care (Counselling)

As a lecturer within the Health andSocial Care team you will be involved in the development and delivery of the COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills. You will be joining an established team with a wealth of expertise that will support you in your new role

What you will offer us

To be considered for this post you will be a practitioner with a Diploma in Counselling. In addition to an appropriate Degree or Professional Qualification, you will also have a current counselling practice and experience of delivering Counselling Skills training or of designing and delivering self-development, awareness raising, education programmes to groups. You will be a COSCA Accredited trainer, or eligible for COSCA's Trainer Accreditation Scheme.

Applicants must be available to teach during the evening and day and be able to demonstrate creative approaches to teaching, a willingness to share practice and contribute to the development of resources.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, be happy to teach a wide range of students and work effectively within a team.

Salary - Point 1 of the Lecturer salary pay scale which compromises of Point 1 GBP 33,500 up to point 5 GBP 41526per annum (pro rata) (Placement on the salary scale is dependent on qualifications and experience as per the National guidelines).
