Nursery Practitioner - Permanent - EC01304

Edinburgh College requires a fully qualified and suitably experienced Nursery Practitioner to take up an exciting opportunity to develop their skills by joining our nursery team.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of working as part of a team within a childcare setting. The applicant should have a minimum of one year’s experience of working with children. We are looking for individuals with a genuine passion for the learning and development of children in the early years. We are particularly interested in people with a love of outdoor learning and forest schools experience

Among other tasks, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

· engaging in and supporting the daily running of the playroom

· acting as a mentor for student placements and new team members

· developing outdoor experiences and engaging in high quality outdoor learning experiences

· engaging in staff training and development

· taking an active role in sharing information and good practice

· supporting the delivery of in-house training courses

This position will be playroom based with a high level of outdoor practice.

· Applicants should possess an HNC or SVQ 3 (or equivalent) in Early Education and Childcare or Childcare Practice for a practitioner post

· Applicants must have a minimum of one years’ experience in a childcare setting,

· Applicants must be registered with the SSSC
