About the Role

Working closely with the OD Manager, you will help drive organisational development initiatives that enhance performance, engagement and capability across the College. This is a varied role where you’ll design and deliver learning programmes, support change projects, and contribute to building a positive, high-performing culture.

You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, using your expertise to develop creative solutions and ensure employees feel engaged, motivated and equipped for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of OD initiatives aligned to organisational strategy
  • Develop, coordinate and evaluate L&D programmes including training, induction, leadership development, coaching and mentoring
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and teams on development solutions
  • Assist in diagnosing organisational needs using data, surveys, and focus groups
  • Contribute to employee engagement and culture initiatives
  • Support employee wellbeing programmes and events
  • Work collaboratively with HR and Communications teams to promote OD initiatives
  • Help maintain OD systems, data and intranet content

About You

  • We are looking for someone who brings enthusiasm, creativity and a collaborative approach to learning and organisational development.

You will have:

  • Experience within an OD and/or L&D environment
  • Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training programmes
  • Strong facilitation, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience supporting projects and working across teams
  • The ability to analyse data and translate insights into action
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

You will also demonstrate:

  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Attention to detail and high-quality written communication
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to developing people and creating a positive workplace culture. We are dedicated to equality, wellbeing, and delivering high-quality services to our staff and students.

Working arrangements

This is a 0.5 FTE role working primarily onsite across all four campuses but based in the Milton Road campus. There will be some flexibility to work one day per week from home if required (not essential).

Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for further details.

Selection Process:

We are working in partnership with Leading Kind, who provide digital software to support a robust and fair recruitment process. This approach is designed to reduce bias by assessing your skills at the outset. Your assignments will be reviewed by a panel who cannot see any identifying personal information, including your CV, while assessing your ability to demonstrate the required skills.

As a result, the general ‘guaranteed interview scheme’ does not apply to this recruitment round. Invitations to interview will be based on demonstrated skills.

Please ensure you read the scenario questions carefully and submit your response only when you are satisfied it is complete.

Quite simply, if you do not demonstrate your skills in action, you will not be invited to interview.

If you are shortlisted, you will receive the interview questions and presentation topic in advance, enabling you to further demonstrate your skills and knowledge.

To be considered for interview, please complete the online assessment here:

Please note that the successful candidate may be required to work at any Edinburgh College campus.
