Edinburgh College is looking to recruit a resourceful and committed individual from a Professional Cookery and Hospitality background to fulfil the role of Instructor within the Department of Culinary arts
This is an exciting and key role within the Department, and the Instructor will be responsible for providing support to develop the skills and understanding of students to SCQF level 5 or equivalent and provide support to them throughout the course in Professional Kitchens, Restaurants and Cafes. The role is to work effectively as part of a wider team of instructors whilst specifically supporting the delivery of our cookery and hospitality curriculum. Applicants should therefore have the relevant specialist cookery and hospitality knowledge and skills to ensure the best support for learning and teaching possible.
You must be educated to a minimum level of SCQF Level 5 or equivalent in a related discipline. The successful applicant will be occupationally competent and possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry and be current and up to date with industry trends and legislations. Applicants should have experience of working in commercial kitchens, restaurants or cafes be competent in using specialist equipment and be able to demonstrate the relevant skills required to play a key role in the everyday activities the team are involved in.
Additionally, you must have the ability to communicate and relate well with cross college staff, learners of different abilities working effectively as part of a team of instructors to support the wider Schools activities.
