Each summer Edinburgh College welcomes international students aged 16 and over from all over the world to take part in English Language and English Language Teacher Training courses. Students study for between 2 and 8 weeks, and can choose from a range of courses including General English, English & Culture, Examination Preparation and Social Programme. The Social Programme gives students the opportunity to visit some of the historical and cultural attractions in Edinburgh and Scotland, and includes a wide range of activities that take place during weekday afternoons and evenings, in addition to full-day excursions on Saturdays.

The College requires a Summer School Assistant to provide effective administration to support the successful running of the Summer School programme, and to lead on Social Programme activities and airport collections.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and an enthusiastic, warm and friendly personality, and strong administration skills and IT skills. They should have experience of providing a high level of customer service, ideally with people of different cultures and nationalities who may have a limited level of English, and demonstrable experience of holding a position of responsibility / managing groups. The successful candidate will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours, as some activities will take place on evenings and weekends.

The Summer School is based at the Sighthill Campus, but the role will require travel to other locations in Edinburgh and Scotland.
