We are currently seeking applications for an Education Officer – Community Learning and Development within Education Scotland and can be based in Livingston, Dundee or Glasgow. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Education Scotland is the national improvement agency for Scottish education and an executive agency of the Scottish Government. Our role is to promote improvement through inspection and review, innovation and change, and providing support and challenge to the whole of the education system from early years to adult learning. Community Learning and Development (CLD) encompasses adult learning, youth work, ESOL, adult literacy and numeracy, and community learning. CLD plays a crucial role in delivering the Scottish Government’s national outcomes and demonstrates valuable impact on the lives of learners throughout lifelong learning and across a range of Scottish Government priorities.

The post holder will work within the Regional Directorate engaging with key stakeholders from across local authorities, the voluntary sector and national partners. Aspects of the role will include the line management of staff, improvement and support to the sector and establishing internal and external partnerships for the delivery of national outcomes. Membership of the CLD Standards Council welcome.
