We are currently seeking applications for a Graphic Designer based in either Glasgow, Livingston, Dundee or Aberdeen. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Education Scotland is Scotland's national improvement agency for education. Our role is to provide assurance and promote improvement, from the early years to adult learning. This role will provide a comprehensive graphic design and illustration service to the scrutiny and inspection area of Education Scotland. The role holder will work with HM Inspector colleagues to develop a portfolio of creative designs, illustrations and approaches to communicate key messages from scrutiny and inspection activities; exemplify effective practice; and promote the work of scrutiny to stakeholders. Education Scotland undertakes scrutiny activity and inspections across every sector of education. We have a commitment to share our key findings and examples of where practice is working well. This role is central in developing new and creative approaches to help meet this commitment.


Qualifications Required

Educated to degree level in graphic design and illustration or educated to degree level with a qualification in graphic design and illustration.

Essential Criteria

1. A proven track record of working in a graphic design role as a highly creative graphic designer and illustrator with experience developing creative solutions to a brief.

2. Enthusiastic and proactive individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.

3. Sound organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with an excellent working knowledge of the Adobe suite of software products (particularly Photoshop and illustrator, InDesign and Flash).

4. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and act as a trusted adviser on graphic design.
